The Saving Grace of Your Self-Respect.

Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
Bid my blood to run
Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I’ve become. *

The journey toward health and sanity is nothing less than an invitation to wake up. – Jon Kabat-Zinn

Save me, save me, save me!
The internal screams of all things that need to be saved.

Save California. Save us from the fires. Save us from the drought. Save America. Save us from government control. Save my right to abort- my right to work. Save us from this law and that law. Save us from this virus. Save us from illness. Save us from death.

Underneath all the surface pain: is the need to save your self-respect.

You are what needs to be saved.

Your Self-Respect is what needs to be saved.

I am not your savior. My body is not your saving grace. The vaccinated nor the unvaccinated. Right nor left. You are looking to be saved in all the wrong places. No government, no mandates, nothing outside of yourself is going to save you.

It’s you.
Your self-respect.
Your self-respect is what will start saving you.

It’s behooves us to know the difference between self-respect and self-rightousness.
We can become mindful in knowing that one’s self-rightousness is right for them and not necessarily right for another. We profess our righteousness as a means to dictate what is right for ourselves. We can become aware of our arrogance (and our ignorance) and see the truth that what is right for me may not be right for you.
This is the beauty of America. And we have drifted off to sleep.
Some of us are waking up. Waking up to our own self-respect. Waking up to the present moment reality of our direct experience.
